Rick Pitts

Many insureds, particularly small commercial insureds, look to their insurance producers for risk management tips and advice in a variety of circumstances. This session will begin with a look at the typical “crisis.” We’ll then take a look at the insurance implications or the role of the insurance professional in responding to a crisis. It uses the examples of Active Shooter / Active Assailant insurance coverage and also Products Recall Insurance to illustrate the dependency between crisis response and insurance risk management.

This session will review current workers compensation statue and how it impacts agriculture. It will discuss employer’s liability, corporate farms, independent contractor changes (AB-5), and pending changes in statues throughout the country.

What’s News Now in Indiana Agribusiness and Insurance
Steve Duff and Rick Pitts

This session is a review of current events in the insurance industry: the bills that passed the legislature; those that did not; case law of interest to insurers and producers alike; initiatives and trends from regulatory bodies; and, marketplace changes that may dictate policy and/or forms changes.  The emphasis throughout is on events that have transpired recently or may occur very soon in the future.

Thank you to our MICAI Summer Meeting Sponsors!

And a “BIG” thank you to Steve Duff and Megan Vaught for making this happen!
